C. Don Filer – Founder and CEO
Don Filer founded C. Don Filer Agency, Inc. in 1947 soon after leaving the Navy and moving to the Seattle. Don soon found that his passion for Real Estate, boating, and flying could be turned into a successful insurance business. Known for his tremendous work ethic and larger-than-life personality, Don quickly became one of the most successful and talented brokers in the region. Don Filer currently spends most of his time and energy on various local Boards and as an Angel Investor. He is a life member of both the Seattle Yacht Club and the Queen City Yacht Club, and is a founding member of the Museum of Flight.
Random Facts: Don Filer’s real name is Clyde, hence the C. in C. Don Filer. We don’t blame him one bit for preferring his middle name! Also, Don is often referred to as the “Mayor of Sullivan Bay,” a small fishing destination near the Queen Charlotte Straights.
Douglas Filer – President
Doug Filer, much like his father, has been in the insurance business for over 30 years. As the President of C. Don Filer Agency, Inc. Doug has helped take the company to the next level by working on some of the largest commercial accounts in the Northwest. Doug is known in the industry for his textbook knowledge of insurance and his tremendous ability to negotiate on behalf of his clients. Doug is also a member of both the Seattle Yacht Club and the Queen City Yacht Club and currently resides on the Board of Trustees for several local companies.
Random Facts: Doug is a former Commodore and former Treasurer for the Tollycraft Boating Club. He is also an out of practice pilot much like his father.
Denise Filer-Baker – Executive Vice President, VP Personal Lines
Also a second generation Filer, Denise Baker is in charge of our personal lines division and specializes in homeowner, auto and personal umbrella policies. Denise has been with C. Don Filer for over 28 years and continues to take great pride in providing her clients with the best available coverage. Denise is involved with the Professional Insurance Agents Association as well as serving on several insurance company council committees. Denise is active in the community of which participating in the Seattle 3 Day Breast Cancer walk being one of her favorites.
Random Facts: Denise, like every Filer, is an avid boater and can be found cruising the San Juan Islands with her family and dog, Sadie during the summer months.
